The crypt at Winchester Cathedral. on Flickr.
Via Flickr: The low-vaulted stone crypt, which floods in rainy months, dates from the 11th century, the earliest phase of building the Cathedral. Here you’ll find Antony Gormley’s life-size sculpture of a solitary man, Sound II, sometimes standing up to its knees in water. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, we came while the crypt was flooded.
